Pamela Whitney is the Democratic Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics, Committee on Science, Space, and Technology in the U.S. House of Representatives where she leads the Subcommittee minority staff team to support the Full Committee and Subcommittee Ranking Members and Members, and the Subcommittee’s work on hearings, legislation, and oversight. During the 117th Congress, Ms. Whitney led staff negotiations for the House on the NASA Authorization Act of 2022 in the CHIPS and Science Act. Throughout Ms. Whitney’s tenure on the Committee staff, she has contributed to multiple NASA authorizations, commercial space legislation, and other bills, including a law on protecting Apollo site artifacts on the Moon. Prior to joining the Committee, she was a Senior Program Officer and Study Director at the Space Studies Board of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine.
