Dr. Gertsch has a Ph.D. in mining engineering and has worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines, Colorado School of Mines, Michigan Technological University, and since 2003 Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T). She runs the Space Resources Laboratory there while teaching various courses for the Geosciences and Geological and Petroleum Engineering Department as well as the S&T Space Resources graduate program.
